Here is a list of outside and District specific resources that families may need:
 
Indigenous Northern Affairs: this site is where families can register for Status cards as well as a number of other Indigenous related issues and topics. 
 
Metis Nation of Alberta: This site will help those families who identify as Metis find resources related to Metis history, culture and related events. 
 
 
Grande Prairie Friendship Centre: is a non-profit organization that is here to help urban Indigenous peoples. They have programing from babies to the elderly. This site will aid you in finding community supports and events.
 
PLS supports for GPCSD: our PLS team works within our district to help students who may need extra supports in the areas of speech, physiotherapy, psychology and mental health. 
 
Children's Mental Health: this site has information and contact numbers for families whose children may be struggling with Mental Health concerns. 
 
Spirit Seekers Youth Conference: this is a local youth conference that typically runs in March each year. The conference has a variety of presenters discussing topics that are motivational, inspiring and uplifting. 
 
Western Cree Tribal Council: this program services the three Nations that surround Grande Prairie, Sturgeon Lake, Horse Lake and Duncan's First Nations. They offer supports for Indigenous families living off reserve in the Grande Prairie area.
 
Alberta Indigenous Virtual Care Clinic: this website will allow you to set up a doctors appointment virtually. There is a 1-800 number as well as a tab to click for an appointment request. It is for all of Alberta and the doctors work or have worked extensively with Indigenous peoples.
