Campaign Disclosure Requirements – 2025 election
• The campaign period for the October 2025 election ends on December 31, 2025.
• On or before March 1, 2026, a candidate who has received contributions in 2025 must file a disclosure statement for the previous year as per s. 147.4(1) of the Local Authorities Election Act (LAEA). This will include January to July 2025 campaign contributions reported in September prior to the October election.
• All campaign disclosure statements must be filed in the prescribed form (Form 26 – Campaign Disclosure Statement and Financial Statement) with the board’s secretary as per s. 147.3 and s. 147.4 of the LAEA.
• The amendments to the LAEA now require candidate financial disclosures to be publicly available on the school authority’s website in perpetuity as per s. 147.4(7) of the LAEA and Municipal Affairs’ Changes to the Local Authorities Election Act
