What are IT Micro-Certifications?
GPCSD offers students interested in Information Technologies the opportunity to earn their certification in several areas. All of which enhance their knowledge and experience for working within a digital age and acquiring specialization in numerous Information Technology fields.

Costs
- All certifications are funded by the Grande Prairie Career Academy and their sponsors, and students simply provide a “caution fee” that is 25% of the actual certifications fee which is fully refunded upon successful completion of the certification.
IT Certifications help students to:
• complete high school while engaging in meaningful curriculum.
• determine if a career in the IT industry may be right for them.
• transition to post-secondary studies or move into the world of work.
• enhance skill sets to meet the requirements of working for IT-based companies.
How does my child become involved?
IT Mico-Course Certification Process – Students can start by inquiring to any of their teachers who teach IT-related courses and then must make an appointment with our Career Academy Advisor, Mr. MacPherson, to discuss their interests and to obtain the registration paperwork for the various certifications we sponsor.
