PUF Pre-Kindergarten Registration

New student registration for Fall 2021-2022 is NOW OPEN!

 

Eligibility and Registration:

  • Your child must be three or four years of age by December 31 of the school year.
 
PUF

Alberta Education provides funding for 3 and 4 year old children whose learning or development is severely delayed. Through PUF (Program Unit Funding), children access an early childhood program tailored to meet individual needs.

If your child may qualify for PUF,  it is important that you contact us to begin the registration process. Please call the Catholic Education Centre (780) 532-3013  to discuss options for your child’s education with our Supervisor of Early Learning.

 

Children with Speech-Language Needs

Does your child have difficulty speaking clearly? Have difficulty understanding? Have a limited vocabulary? If you have concerns about your child’s speech or language, it is recommended that you communicate these concerns with Alberta Health Services for information that is specific to your child’s needs and abilities. Your child may qualify for government funded preschool through our Pre-Kindergarten program. Your child must be at least 2 years 8 months old on Sept 1st of the school year. Please call your nearest AHS Speech-Language department to schedule an appointment:

Children with Developmental Delays

If you have concerns about your child’s behavior, cognitive ability or physical development it is recommended that you share these concerns with your family doctor and Alberta Health Services to receive information that is specific to your child’s needs and abilities. Your child may qualify for government preschool funding through our Pre-Kindergarten program. Your child must be three years of age by December 31 of the school year.

Completing Registration

New Families

For new families to GPCSD, you are required to:

  • Create a SchoolEngage parent account.
  • Add your child.
  • Complete your child's online registration form.

Current Families with GPCSD

For current GPCSD families registering (adding) a new child:

  • Sign in to your PowerSchool parent portal.
  • Click on the SchoolEngage icon.
  • Add the new child in SchoolEngage.
  • Complete your child's online registration form.

Families Returning to GPCSD

Returning families are families who:

  1. Their children have attended a GPCSD school in previous years and
  2. Have a SchoolEngage parent account already created, but their children did not attend the last school year.

Returning families will need to reset their password for their SchoolEngage parent account. For further assistance on resetting your SchoolEngage account, please contact your school.

How to Register Offline Using the Paper Form

  • Download/Save the form to your computer or device (Click here for form)
  • The form can be filled out electronically or by hand.
  • Once the form is completed, please contact your school directly (Click here for Schools)
